Ted Cruz Promises To Pardon Indicted Makers Of Fraudulent Planned Parenthood Videos

Flailing GOP Candidates Pledges ‘On Day One’ To Launch Justice Department Investigation Into Planned Parenthood

Sen. Ted Cruz says that Planned Parenthood “appears to be” committing “vast criminal conduct” and he has pledged on his first day to instruct the Justice Department “to open an investigation into Planned Parenthood and to prosecute any and all criminal conduct by that organization.”

“It appears Planned Parenthood is a national criminal enterprise committing multiple felonies,” Cruz also said, as he was speaking in a town hall setting on Fox News’ “The Kelly File” Wednesday.

Cruz also revealed other types of decisions he would make as president, promising that he would, if elected, pardon David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt, the two anti-choice activists who were indicted by a grand jury in Cruz’s home state of Texas. The two are facing felony charges for their roles in creating the fraudulent videos that falsely claim to expose the women’s health care provider of “selling aborted baby parts.”

Every investigation into Planned Parenthood, including the one that resulted in the indictment of Daleiden and Merritt, has found zero evidence of wrongdoing by Planned Parenthood.

Cruz, however, said he thinks Daleiden “performed an incredible public service.”
