Cliven Bundy Arrested On His Way To Oregon Standoff

FBI Arrests Infamous Anti-Government Rancher Over 2014 Militia Armed Confrontation

Late Wednesday night, Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy was arrested by the FBI on charges related to the 2014 armed standoff with federal officials. Bundy, 74, was captured while on his way to support the four remaining militia members holed up at the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge near Burns, Oregon. The FBI Wednesday night moved in on and surrounded the federal installation occupiers, who are expected to surrender later this morning.

Bundy’s sons Ammon and Ryan initiated the now-41 day standoff in Oregon after they broke into and took over the federal buildings. They were later arrested in a shootout with local, state and federal law enforcement which ended with one member of their group shot dead.

Cliven Bundy “faces a conspiracy charge to interfere with a federal officer — the same charge lodged against two of his sons, Ammon and Ryan, for their role in the Jan. 2 takeover of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in Burns. He also faces weapons charges,” The Oregonian reports. He was booked at 10:54 PM local time.

The Bundy Ranch Facebook page also noted the arrest.

“They keep coming for us patriots, they keep attacking peaceful principled men and woman,” the page claimed, apparently ignoring the weapons used to fend off federal officials. “What are the people to do when our government becomes the enemy of the law. — Pray fervently tonight. Many are in peril.”

The Bundys are members of the Mormon Church and adhere to extremist anti-government beliefs, which include a belief they are being directed by God.
