Jeb Boasts He Helped 80,000 Kids Go To Christian Schools So They Could Be Told ‘Jesus Loves You’

Watch as Jeb Bush says he took on “powerful interests” so Florida school children could transfer into private religious schools – and he can do that for the rest of America.

Jeb Bush is in trouble, and on Monday, Presidents’ Day, he retooled his campaign and brought our his brother, George W. Bush, to speak for him. The former President spoke for 21 minutes, and the Jeb gave a passionate speech about all the things he believes a real, good president should do.

Among them, listen and admit you don’t know things and balance the federal budget – things President George W. Bush never did.

But it was a story Jeb chose to close his speech with that was truly stunning.

The former Florida governor boasted that he “took on really, really powerful interests” so that 80,000 students could transfer into private Christian schools. Those kids are going to private christian schools on the taxpayers’ dime, thanks to what Bush boasted at a GOP debate last year as “a voucher program that was created under my watch, the largest voucher program in the country, where kids can go to a Christian school.”

So much for separation of church and state.

Bush on Monday talked about one student he met who was not doing well in a public school. He told the audience that “thankfully,” her grandmother heard about his private school voucher program and got her into a Christian school.

“Dinesha got to go to a Christian school. And I know for a fact what happened. That first week – it had to have been. A teacher put her arm around that child and said, ‘I love you. You’re capable. You can do this. Jesus loves you. We can do this together.”

Because according to Jeb Bush, the solution to America’s troubles is just more God and religion.

This is how Jeb Bush wants to fundamentally transform America.
