Hillary Clinton Takes South Carolina Primary – But The Big News Are The Exit Poll Results

Exit Polls Show 8 Out of 10 South Carolina Voters Prefer an Experienced Candidate, Not an Outsider

Hillary Clinton has won the South Carolina primary but that was wholly expected. The big news is what’s in the exit polls.

First, they show 60 percent of voters who turned out are Black, and 60 percent are women. 

In addition to six out of ten voters in the SC Democratic primary being Black, and women, results show 70 percent believe Clinton to be honest, and 60 percent believe Bernie Sanders to be honest.

“While Clinton’s ratings on honesty are better overall than in previous states, there’s a sharp divide between the races: Barely more than half of white voters see Clinton as honest and trustworthy, while more than eight in 10 say that about Sanders. It’s essentially the exact opposite among blacks,” ABC News reports.

South Carolina voters also want a candidate who has more, not less, experience:

And they want the next president to continue President Obama’s policies:

On race relations, 51 percent say both Clinton and Sanders would do a good job, while 33 percent pick just Clinton, and 12 percent just Sanders.

UPDATE I:
Clinton won the Black vote, 84% to Bernie Sanders’ 16%. Sanders took 58% of the white vote. Clinton took the majority of voters under 45, with 53%, and 74% of voters over 45.
