Breaking: Five People Including Gunman Dead In Washington State Shooting

In yet another mass shooting this week, a gunman has shot and killed four others in Washington State.

Five people, including the gunman, are dead after a mass shooting in Belfair, Washington, a rural area with a population of about 700. 

“The sheriff’s office received reports of four shot at a home in Belfair, the agency said on Twitter,” ABC News reports. “A SWAT team assisted the sheriff’s office on the scene, where a standoff and negotiations took place, according to police.”

The gunman killed himself.

“Mason County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Ryan Spurling says the armed man called 911 Friday morning to say he had shot four people in a private home, local authorities said. The possible victims included the man’s wife, two children, and someone else,” KING 5 News reports.

There are no other details currently.

Today’s mass shooting follows one in Kansas yesterday, where a gunman killed three people and wounded 14 other victims. That gunman is dead.

UPDATE I: 6:11 PM EST –

“Mason County sheriff’s Chief Deputy Ryan Spurling says the gunman had called 911 on Friday to say he shot and killed his family. A girl who survived has been taken to the hospital,” the San Francisco Chronicle reports. “Authorities say officers negotiated with the man for about three hours before they entered the home and found the people dead.”
