Ted Cruz’s Goals Haven’t Changed Since He Was 18, As This Unearthed Video From 1988 Shows

GOP Presidential Candidate Said He Wanted To ‘Take Over The World, World Domination’ As A Teen

A video posted Saturday to YouTube of an 18-year old Ted Cruz shows the young Texas Tea Party Senator and GOP presidential candidate responding to a question about his future aspirations.

“Take over the world, world domination…rich, powerful, that sort of stuff,” the young Cruz says on camera.

The video was published in an article by Gawker’s Melissa Cronin on Sunday. She notes it was filmed while Cruz was “attending Second Baptist School in Houston, Texas. Not unlike any other teenager, Cruz is casual, goofy and achingly arrogant.”

The Huffington Post generously reports the video captures Cruz “sarcastically joking.”

YouTube user Young Ted Cruz posted the unearthed tape, and told Politico “the video had been provided by a high school classmate of Cruz’s who wished to remain anonymous.”

Earlier in the 30-second clip, Cruz says, “Aspirations? Is that like sweat on my butt?”

“Well my aspiration is to, uh, oh I don’t know, be in a teen tit film like that guy who played Horatio. You know he was in Malibu Bikini Beach Shop,” Cruz says, referrring to a 1986 film by David Wechter.

Cruz campaign spokesman Rick Tyler scoffed at the video, telling Politico, “Good to see he’s always had a great sense of humor.”

The Huffington Post may have thought Cruz was joking, but this 2013 Huffington Post piece goes a long way to shatter that claim.
