Huckabee Bragging He’s Been Endorsed By The Gun-Wielding #MerryChristmasStarbucks Red Cup Fanatic

Why does Mike Huckabee think an endorsement from the guy who started the crazy #MerryChristmasStarbucks campaign is a good reflection on him?

Remember last year when Starbucks unveiled its new Holiday red cups adorned with the opportunity to draw on them your own message? Remember the outraged former Pastor Joshua Feuerstein who told his almost two million Facebook fans that Starbucks “hates Jesus” and created what he called the “#MerryChristmasStarbucks movement”? His video went viral (as of today it has almost 17 million views) but mostly thanks to people mocking his lies and hate in the name of Christianity.

Mike Huckabee, himself an ordained minister, is now bragging that he’s received the endorsement of Joshua Feuerstein, whom he knows from the Kim Davis rally.

The Huckabee campaign this week posted the endorsement to its website:

“I ask myself who Jesus would vote for … and that answer is Governor Mike Huckabee,” Joshua Feuerstein, social media Christian advocate and former television and radio evangelist

Feuerstein first came to national attention last April, when he posted a video of himself calling a Florida bakery asking for an anti-gay cake. The bakery owner got death threats from his supporters because she refused.

Then, shortly after the Supreme Court ruled same-sex couples have a constitutional right to marry, Feuerstein posted another video in which he waved a semiautomatic assault rifle and told his followers, “It’s time that we finally take a stand and say no more. We’re not backing up any further.” Needless to say, some felt it was threatening, others labeled it a “call to arms.”

If all that weren’t enough, Hemant Mehta at Friendly Atheist reminds us that “Feuerstein is the guy who slammed a dad for buying his son a Little Mermaid doll, urged Christians to point a gun at their heads so they can get used to what persecution feels like, claimed that a church/state separation case marked the beginning of the ‘Christian Holocaust,’ and blamed the San Bernardino shootings on a lack of forced prayer in public schools.”

Feuerstein isn’t the only nut whose endorsement Huckabee is bragging about. Right Wing Watch has a run down.
