WHEN:

Tonight, Sunday, January 17 is the first Democratic Debate of 2016.

Coverage begins at 8:00 PM EST and the actual debate is scheduled to begin at 9:00 PM EST sharp.

WHERE:

The debate will be held in Charleston, South Carolina.

WHO:

Alphabetically, Hillary Clinton, Martin O’Malley, and Bernie Sanders will be debating. 

NBC News and the Congressional Black Caucus Institute are hosting.

NBC News anchor Lester Holt is the moderator, and NBC News’ political director and Meet the Press host Chuck Todd and NBC News chief foreign affairs correspondent Andrea Mitchell will also be on hand to ask questions.

HOW TO WATCH:

Starting at 8:00 PM MSNBC will host a one-hour pre-debate show, then beginning at 9:00 PM, switch to your local NBC channel.

Expect topics tonight to range from the historic news of the Iran hostages release and nuclear agreement, to guns, to the Clinton-Sanders attacks against each other over healthcare. Race relations and other social justice issues will likely be front and center as well.

Remember, the all-important Iowa Caucuses, the nation’s first primary, are February 1, just 15 days away!
