Breaking: Supreme Court Agrees To Obama Administration Request To Review Blocked Immigration Plan

Immigration Case Becomes Presidential Election Issue 

The Supreme Court will review a lower court’s ruling that blocked President Barack Obama’s executive order on immigration. The President, in an effort to keep families together, ordered federal agencies to create a program, DAPA, that would defer the deportation of parents whose children are legal U.S. citizens.

The program affected about 5 million undocumented immigrants, allowing them to register and “come out of the shadows” to work, legally, in the United States.

Despite claims of being pro-family, Texas, and 25 other states sued the Obama administration to block the President’s executive orders on immigration.

The Supreme Court will decide if the states have the right to sue the federal government over immigration issues, as administration of immigration is a federal, not states’ issue. The Court will also decide on the constitutionality of the Obama executive order related to DAPA.

The Court will hear arguments in April, and decide, likely, in late June, making this one of the most important cases of this session, and a huge election issue.
