‘Pro-Death’: NY Daily News Slams GOP For Opposing Obama’s Gun Control Executive Order

The front page of today’s NY Daily News labels Republicans “blood soaked” and “pandering liars.” 

Now famous for its provocative front page attacks on gun violence, the NY Daily News today published a cover story that takes the GOP to task for opposing President Barack Obama’s executive order yesterday on gun control. 

“Their cold, dead souls as GOP contenders fight Obama’s modest gun controls,” the cover story’s title reads. The cover page goes even further. Atop photos of Carly Fiorina, Ted Cruz, Paul Ryan, and Marco Rubio, the Post stamps the label “The Party of Pro-Death.”

Above, it sears this attack:

“Republican leadership is composed of pandering liars stoking irrational fear. Their answer to Obama’s measured plan to stop the crazies from getting guns is simple deceit. All in a blood-soaked chase for cheap votes.”

Inside, it explains the attack.

“With gunshot fatalities now on annual par with automobile fatalities, the Republican Party, overwhelmingly ‘pro-life’ on abortion, is staunchly pro-death where guns are concerned.”

“Its leaders are comfortable with mass shootings like the Sandy Hook massacre of first-graders, which brought Obama to tears, with ISIS-inspired attacks like the slaughter in San Bernardino, and with random murders by bullet, like the one that killed 15-year-old Zaevion Dobson, cited by Obama for giving his life to protect three girls during a drive-by shooting in Knoxville, Tenn., less than a month ago.”

“Trump, Cruz, Bush, Rubio — name them all. They accept relentless, stanchable bloodshed in order to play to the crazies.”
