‘I Have A Great Relationship With God’: Donald Trump Says He Is ‘Good’ (Video)

GOP Frontrunner Brags About His Relationship With Evangelicals, God

Just two weeks ahead of the Iowa caucuses, the nation’s first primary, Donald Trump on Sunday told CNN’s Jake Tapper that he believes he has great relationships with God and with Evangelical Christians. Iowa Republicans are extremely religious Christian conservatives.

The GOP frontrunner in very black-and-white terms says he likes “to be good,” tries to not do anything “bad,” has a “great relationship with God,” and doesn’t like to “have to ask for forgiveness.”

Trump, who has been divorced twice and married three times infamously last year admitted that he never asks God for forgiveness, which many believed would destroy his chances with evangelical voters. It did not.

“I live a very different life than probably a lot of people would think,” Trump told Tapper today. “I’m talking about over the last number of years, I’m leading a very good life. I try to lead a good life and I have. And frankly, [it’s] the reason I’m doing so well in Iowa.”

CNN today notes “Trump’s marriage exploded in 1990, and rumors filled the gossip pages that he’d not quite lived up to his vows.”
