Watch: Kim Davis Says Her Anti-Gay Act ‘Affects Every Church, Every Person That Lives And Loves God’

County Clerk Believes She’s ‘Just The First Of What’s Going To Be Very Many’

Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis thinks there will be many more people who will be willing to fight same-sex marriage and defy the law in the belief they are honoring their chosen faith. Davis, who spent six days in jail for contempt of court and to this day has never signed the marriage license of a same-sex couple, says she hopes people will be inspired by her illegal actions.

“The stand I took affects every church, every person that lives and loves God, that holds the word of God precious and dear and intimate in their lives,” Davis told EWTN, as Right Wing Watch reports.

Davis observes an obscure sect of Christianity known as Oneness Pentecostalism or Apostolic Pentecostalism. She is, of course, vastly mistaken, or exceptionally dismissive of the millions of Christians and people of other faiths who support the rights of same-sex couples to marry.

“I’m just the first of what’s going to be very many. You can rest assured of that. And it’s not if it happens, it’ll be when it happens. And maybe my stand will encourage others who will be in the same position.”

Davis also mistakenly claims she might get thrown in jail again. In large part because of her efforts, new Kentucky tea party governor Matt Bevin issued an executive order removing the requirement that all marriage licenses be signed by the county clerk. Some believe that executive law is not legal, as the state legislature controls those documents and county clerks do not report to the governor.

The Rowan County clerk also shared the details of her previously secret visit with Pope Francis. She said he asked her to pray for him, and then teared up after she added that she responded, “I will pray for you, and I ask you to pray for me.”

The Pope is well known for asking most of the people he greets to pray for him.

Davis also said the Pope gave her two rosaries. The Pope, again, often gives most of the people he greets in formal settings rosaries.
