Rick Santorum: ‘There Has To Be A Line Drawn’ Between Gov’t And Religion, If Religion Is Islam

VIDEO: Watch top GOP theocrat Rick Santorum explain why religion mixed with government is a bad idea.

Rick Santorum Tuesday night t the GOP debate tried to explain why the religion of Islam should not be protected under the First Amendment to the Constitution, while, presumably Christianity should.

“I know this is going to come as a shock to a lot of people, and and I mean that sincerely, Islam is not just a religion it is also a political and governing structure,” Santorum insisted.

“The fact of the matter is Islam is a religion, but it is also Sharia law. It is also a civil government. It is also a form of government so the idea that that is protected under the First Amendment is wrong and in fact, that political structure is what is the big problem – the imposition of Sharia law and adherence to fundamental Islam,” Santorum ranted, ignoring the fact that his political policies are wholly based on the Christian bible.

“There has to be a line drawn,” Santorum concluded.

Santorum is advancing the false belief that all Muslims support Sharia law. In fact, in some countries the majority of Muslims do, and in some countries, the majority of Muslims do not.

In response to Santorum’s outburst, Lindsey Graham offered this statement:

“There are at least 3,500 Muslims serving in the American armed forces. Thank you for your service. You are not the enemy. Your religion is not the enemy.”
