The President shared his thoughts on Wednesday’s mass shooting in San Bernardino, California.
“There may be mixed motives,” President Barack Obama said late Thursday morning from the Oval Office in a short statement, his twelfth on a mass shooting since taking office.
Surrounded by top advisors including Vice President Joe Biden and Attorney General Loretta Lynch, the President assured Americans that the FBI is working on the case and will uncover the facts, including the shooters’ motives.
NBC’s Chuck Todd, not known for being a liberal, said the President came across as “very troubled,” but also noted his comments were very “apolitical.”
President Obama acknowledged that the shooting could be terror-related, or workplace violence, or a mixture of both, “but we don’t know,” he insisted.
He also called for making it “harder” for Americans to access guns. “Now, it’s just too easy.”
In related news, the President has ordered flags to be flown at half-staff for the San Bernardino victims.
