A homophobic Cardinal has once again attacked the U.S. Ambassador to the Dominican Republic with ugly rhetoric.
In 2013 James “Wally” Brewster was made the U.S. Ambassador to the Dominican Republic, and one Catholic cardinal in particular has made it his mission to oppose the appointment.Â
Cardinal Nicolás de Jesús López RodrÃguez Tuesday evening said Ambassador Brewster should focus on homemaking, according to the AP. The cardinal also accused Brewster of attempting to advance a gay rights agenda in the Dominican Republic, saying that is the reason he “was sent here.”
“Let him focus on housework, since he’s the wife to a man,” López RodrÃguez told reporters after conducting mass.
Two years ago after discussing Brewster’s appointment with reporters, López RodrÃguez claimed Brewster would attempt to establish marriage for same-sex couples in the Dominican Republic. He then mockingly said we’ve been “talking about queers and lesbians.”
