‘Hell No’: Clinton Campaign Responds To Donald Trump’s Demand For Apology

Oh, the irony…

Just a few short hours ago Donald Trump “won” an award from the editors of the non-partisan fact checking organization, Politifact. Trump won the “Lie of the Year” award, not for a single lie, but for the mass accumulation of his fibs.

So, it’s ironic that the GOP frontrunner is going after the Democratic frontrunner claiming she lied and owes him an apology – especially given that Trump has a long record of never apologizing for anything.

During the Democratic debate Saturday night, Hillary Clinton said Trump “is becoming ISIS’s best recruiter.”

“We also need to make sure that the really discriminatory messages that Trump is sending around the world don’t fall on receptive ears,” Clinton told the New Hampshire audience. “He is becoming ISIS’s best recruiter. They are going to people showing videos of Donald Trump insulting Islam and Muslims in order to recruit more radical jihadists.”

The Clinton campaign couldn’t 100 percent back it up, but “pointed to an NBC News article that quoted Rita Katz of the SITE Intelligence Group, which monitors the social media activities of Islamic terrorist groups,” Politifact reports.

“They love him from the sense that he is supporting their rhetoric,” she said. “They follow everything Donald Trump says. When he says, ‘No Muslims should be allowed in America,’ they tell people, ‘We told you America hates Muslims and here is proof.’ “

On Sunday, Clinton campaign press secretary Brian Fallon responded to a tweet from Donald Trump:

Monday, Trump told NBC’s Matt Lauer on “The Today Show” that he “will demand an apology from Hillary. She should apologize,” Trump insisted.

“She lies about emails, she lies about Whitewater, she lies about everything. She will be a disaster about everything as president of the United States,” Trump charged.

And now, the Clinton campaign is responding again.

“When asked if Mrs. Clinton would apologize,” the Wall Street Journal reports, “Clinton campaign spokesman Brian Fallon said, ‘Hell no. Hillary Clinton will not be apologizing to Donald Trump for correctly pointing out how his hateful rhetoric only helps ISIS recruit more terrorists.'”
