Liberty Counsel Posts ‘Friend Or Foe’ Video For War Against Christmas List

The group that defends Kim Davis is advertising their annual list of retailers who are “foes,” because nothing says “Christmas” like waging a war on free speech.

Welcome to Liberty Counsel‘s 13th annual list of retailers who are “friends” of Christmas, or “foes,” waging a war against he Christian holiday celebrating the birth of Jesus.

“Is Your Favorite Store ‘Naughty’ or ‘Nice’?,” asks Liberty Counsel, the anti-gay hate group still representing Kentucky county clerk Kim Davis. “YOU CAN HELP US SAVE CHRISTMAS,” its website insists. Because to Mat Staver and his crew, the joy of Christmas is measured by how many retailers you can get to succumb to your campaign.

The “Naughty or Nice” list measures “Usages of ‘Christmas’ term in products or advertising,” “Usages of ‘Holiday’ term in products or advertising,” and “References to Jesus, Nativity, or Biblical elements.”

There are only 35 retailers on the list. Here’s one example, CVS:

CVS moved to the “Nice List” this year. While in years past, CVS had no mention of Christmas, this year’s Christmas products even contains a nativity scene. With your help, perhaps the pharmacy will continue to improve.

In their video advertising their list, Liberty Counsel calls itself “the voice of reason,” and lauds itself for cataloging “those retailers who either censor or recognize Christmas.”

In a press release, Staver says, “While retailers are responding to customers and keeping with Christmas, public officials in schools and county offices are often cowering to grinch-like atheist organizations threatening lawsuits.”

“Again this year, Liberty Counsel is defending Christmas carols sung in public schools and nativity scenes displayed on public property,” he adds, not mentioning anything about the Constitution.

“Celebrating Christmas is still legal in schools, public places, and private businesses. If your town or organization receives a letter demanding that Christmas be censored, call Liberty Counsel.”
