Jeb Bush: If ‘You’re A Christian You Can Prove You’re A Christian’

Jeb Bush says only the Syrian refugees who are Christians should be allowed into the U.S., and he thinks Christians have a way to prove their faith.

“Well, you’re a Christian, you can prove you’re a Christian,” Jeb Bush said, interrupting a reporter asking him about his plan to allow only Syrian refugees who are Christian into America.

Asked, “How?,” Bush scoffed, and responded, “I think you can prove it.”

“If you can’t prove it, then, you know,” he said, seemingly going down one road but turning onto another, “you err on the side of caution.”

Bush did not reveal how Christians can prove they are Christians, but warned that Christian families in Syria “will be persecuted.”

The flailing GOP presidential candidate now polling around five percent said refugees who are orphans and Christians should be allowed into the U.S., suggesting people of other faiths, likely Muslims, or no faith, should not.

“At a minimum we ought to be bringing in people that have — orphans or people that clearly aren’t going to be terrorists. Or Christians,” Bush said today at a South Carolina campaign stop, ABC News reports. “There are no Christian terrorists in the Middle East, they’re persecuted.”
