Ex-Wife Of Planned Parenthood Terror Suspect Says He ‘Believed Wholeheartedly In The Bible’

The former wife of the man believed to have killed three people in a terror attack on a Planned Parenthood clinic describes her ex-husband.

Pamela Ross spent 16 years of her life with Robert Lewis Dear, the man believed to be responsible for the deaths of three people in Friday’s terror attack on a Colorado Planned Parenthood. For 12 of those years they were married, until their divorce in 2000.

“It never ever ever ever crossed my mind” that he would do such a thing, Ross told The New York Times.

She says Dear was raised as a Baptist, and while he did not regularly attend church, he was religious.

“He believed wholeheartedly in the Bible. That’s what he always said, he read it cover to cover to cover,” she says, although he wasn’t “fixated” on the Bible the Times notes.

As for politics, Dear was “generally conservative, but not obsessed,” the Times reports.

He kept guns around the house for personal protection and hunting, and he taught their son to hunt doves, as many Southern fathers do. He believed that abortion was wrong, but it was not something that he spoke about compulsively. “It was never really a topic of discussion,” Ms. Ross said.

Ross acknowledged to the Times an incident of domestic violence, but would not discuss it. A police reports says he “hit her and pushed her out the window.”

An invalid report circulating through the right wing media claims Dear was not a Republican and “identified as a woman,” based on a typo in a voter record that has since been deleted entirely.

Ted Cruz on Sunday repeated the lie, stating there are reports that was “a transgendered leftist activist.”

Robert Lewis Dear will have his first court appearance this afternoon. NCRM will bring it to you live, video permitting, and will continue to bring you details as they develop. Stay tuned.
