Donald Trump Just Posted An Extremely Racist Tweet That The GOP Should (But Probably Won’t) Denounce

This time Donald Trump has out Trumped Donald Trump. Has he gone too far? His supporters never will think so.

Just one day after supporters at a Donald Trump speech in Birmingham, Alabama violently “shoved, tackled, punched & kicked” a Black man wearing a Black Lives Matter t-shirt who was protesting the GOP frontrunner, Donald Trump offered in their defense his opinion: “maybe he should have been roughed up.”

“Get him the hell out of here,” Trump can be heard, yelling in the background.

And minutes ago, Trump sent out this disgusting and false tweet:

Before anyone thinks of defending this indefensible tweet, first of all, no one seems to be able to find the “Crime Statistics Bureau of San Francisco.” A quick Google search produced no results, and others, including The New Republic‘s Jeet Heer, say it does not seem to exist.

Also, even if it did, why would a “crime statistics bureau” for San Francisco compile stats for the entire country?

Regardless, the stats are “bogus,” according to Heer at TNR.

“According to the tweet, 81 percent of murdered whites are killed by blacks,” Heer writes. “In fact, that’s the reverse of the truth. Most people are killed by members of their own race because crime is motivated by proximity and opportunity.”

As the Huffington Post notes, “According to the U.S. Department of Justice statistics, 84 percent of white people killed every year are killed by other whites.”
