Democrats Run New Attack Ad Against GOP Presidential Candidates – Featuring W (Video)

The Democrats just got a bit feisty, putting George W. Bush’s words where their mouths are.

Since last Friday’s horrific terror attacks in Paris, the tone in Republican politics has become increasing hostile, xenophobic, and anti-Islam. GOP presidential candidates have all but tried to out fear-monger and out bigot each other, culminating, of course, with Donald Trump‘s near-Nazi-esque comments Thursday that he thinks Muslims should have some means to identify themselves, perhaps ID cards, and the U.S. should have a database to track Muslims in America.

After the tragedies of Sept. 11, 2001, George W. Bush made clear America is not at war with Islam.

“The face of terror is not the true faith of Islam,” President Bush told the nation just six days after the attacks on 9/11. “That’s not what Islam is all about. Islam is peace. These terrorists don’t represent peace. They represent evil and war. When we think of Islam we think of a faith that brings comfort to a billion people around the world. Billions of people find comfort and solace and peace, and that’s made brothers and sisters out of every race, out of every race.”

The Democrats posted this video yesterday, showing clips of Republicans, including Donald Trump, Marco Rubio, Ben Carson, and Jeb Bush attacking Muslims.

And then, George W. Bush.

Take a look:

On Facebook they note of the GOP, “This isn’t presidential,” and in the video, this says it all: “Inciting fear isn’t presidential.”
