Police report an undetermined number of people have been evacuated from Planned Parenthood building, and state the incident began at Planned Parenthood, not at a local bank as some conservatives have claimed.
Colorado Springs Police Dept. Lt. Catherine Buckley in a press conference minutes ago announced they have been in contact with the shooter inside the Planned Parenthood building, but not in voice contact.
Buckley said the shooter “brought items” with him to the Planned Parenthood building. It is possible but unknown those are explosive devices. “This person brought items with him that we have to make sure are not” explosive devices, she told reporters.Â
“We have evacuated numerous people from the Planned Parenthood building,” she said repeatedly, noting “there are an unknown number of casualties.”

“This incident did start with the Planned Parenthood building,” Buckley states, suggesting this incident is connected with Planned Parenthood.
Buckley also stated people are posting the suspect’s name on social media, and “we have not even confirmed the suspect’s identity,” suggesting those reports may be incorrect.
Buckley also noted there are federal agencies on scene including the FBI and ATF.Â
CBS News reiterated that the entire incident happened at Planned Parenthood, and there are nine people who have been brought to the hospital.
