Ben Carson Compares Syrian Refugees To ‘Rabid Dogs’ (Video)

Ben Carson used an offensive analogy to describe people living through the worst refugee crisis since World War II.

Amid what has become a faulty yet national obsession, Dr. Ben Carson today compared Syrian refugees to rabid dogs.

“For instance, you know, if there is a rabid dog running around your neighborhood, you’re probably not going to assume something good about that dog, and you’re probably gonna put your children out of the way,” Carson, now number two in the polls, offered as an analogy when talking about Syrian refugees. “Doesn’t mean that you hate all dogs by any stretch of the imagination,” he stressed in the video below.

“By the same token, we have to have in place screening mechanisms that allow us to determine who the mad dogs are, quite frankly,” Carson told reporters after a campaign stop in Mobile, Alabama.

“Who are the people who wanna come in here and hurt us and wanna destroy us? Until we know how to do that, just like it would be foolish to put your child out in the neighborhood knowing that that was going on, it’s foolish for us to accept people if we cannot have the appropriate type of screening.”

Later, as Politico reports, the Carson campaign sent an email to supporters asking for money.

“We must keep America safe. That is my goal, and I frankly don’t care if the PC crowd is offended,” the email said. “The time for feel-good measures is over.”

“It’s time to secure our borders, and stop President Obama’s dangerously naïve plan to bring tens of thousands of Syrian refugees to our shores.”

As Politico notes, Carson’s number is “not accurate — the Obama administration plans to admit just 10,000 Syrian refugees into the U.S. in 2016.”

The Syrian refugees are fleeing what has been described as the worst refugee crisis since World War II, with 60 million people being displaced, fleeing a civil war and the atrocities of ISIS/ISIL.
