Pat Robertson: Gays Waging ‘Organized Thrust’ To ‘Stick It To The Christians’ (Video)

Pat Robertson says gay people are persecuting Christians, calls it “tyranny!”

Pat Robertson has had it with homosexuals.

The “700 Club” televangelist on Friday followed up a segment about Christian bakers, florists, and others – like Barronelle Stutzman, Melissa and Aaron Klein, and Kim Davis – who break the law by refusing to sell their goods or refusing to perform services for LGBT people for weddings. He then decided that gay people are persecuting Christians, as Right Wing Watch reports.

“Believers should not be forced to do something they don’t believe in,” he said. “It is tyrannical to force somebody to give money and pay taxes for something they abhor,” Robertson insisted.

“And the believers, just in, freedom – we shouldn’t make homosexuals pay money to something they don’t want to do,” Robertson offered, likely not recognizing he just supported the views of a growing number of Americans who believe religious organizations, like churches, should not be tax-exempt, and many people who would like to withhold their tax dollars from paying for war.

“The homosexuals don’t just want to be left alone, now they want to come out and stick it to the Christians. They made it clear and it’s an organized thrust throughout this nation to force conformity.”

(For the record, there is no “organized thrust,” nor is there a “gay mafia” or “cabal.”)

Robertson also totally mischaracterized the case of the “very distinguished fire chief,” Kelvin Cochran, claiming he was fired because he doesn’t support same-sex marriage. Cochran was fired because he didn’t obtain approval before writing a book in which he touts his position as Atlanta’s fire chief.

“This used to be considered perversion, it used to be considered an abomination,” Robertson said. “The Bible says it’s an abomination, the Bible says it’s a sin and these people say, ‘Not only do we want to practice our sinful ways like Sodom and Gomorrah, we’re going to make you like it and we’re going to make you participate whether you like it or not.'”

“That is absolute tyranny and it’s high time we call it what it is and we stand up for freedom,” Robertson demanded.
