Donald Trump: George W. Bush ‘Knew An Attack Was Coming’ (Video)

Donald Trump has found the one issue that many Democrats agree with him on: 9/11.

Continuing his battle to take Jeb Bush down and out of the GOP race for the White House, on CNN Tuesday morning Donald Trump accused President George W. Bush of knowing an attack was coming, a fact that the world knows he received a presidential daily briefing while he was on vacation on August 6, about a month before the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks. That briefing was titled “Bin Laden determined to attack inside the United States.”

On CNN today, Trump said his immigration polices would have been tougher, including making it tougher to obtain student visas. CNN’s anchor Alison Camerota discussed student visas – only one of the hijackers was on a student visa – the others were on tourist or business visas.

Trump said Bush’s decision to invade Iraq was “a disastrous decision.”

And he blamed Bush for not doing more to keep America safe.

“They knew an attack was coming,” Trump accused, saying then-CIA Director George Tenet, “knew in advance that there would be an attack, and he said so, to the president, and he said so to everybody else.”

The GOP frontrunner also suggested George W. Bush was to blame for a lack leadership by not getting the intelligence agencies to talk with each other.

“Say what you want but then we went out and attacked the wrong country,” Trump said of the war in Iraq. “We destabilized the entire Middle East. The Middle East is a mess right now because of Iraq.”

“We fueled and created ISIS out of this,” Trump concluded.

This latest attack on Jeb Bush some say have ruined his chances for the White House. Salon on Monday published two articles, back-to-back: “Jeb Bush is completely toast: Donald Trump and Jake Tapper just ended all White House dreams,” and “Donald Trump is destroying Jeb Bush: Why his 9/11 gambit could be the last straw.”

Polls released today all show Jeb Bush in the single digits, with just 5 to 8 percent of the GOP vote.
