Ben Carson Says ‘You Could Guess That We’re Getting Closer To’ The End Of Days (Video)

The apocalypse may be getting closer, Dr. Ben Carson thinks.

Dr. Ben Carson proudly professes his faith as often as he can. In response to the faulty belief on the right that the Oregon shooter specifically targeted Christians, Carson turned that claim into a campaign marketing tool, complete with bumper stickers advertising his website.

The retired neurosurgeon sat down on Sunday with former CBS News journalist Sharyl Attkisson, who asked him, “Do you think we’re at the End of Days?”

“You could guess that we are getting closer to that,” Carson responded. “You do have people who have a belief system that sees this apocalyptic phenomenon occurring, and that they’re a part of it, and who would not hesitate to use nuclear weapons if they gain, possessing [sic] them.”

Carson is a Seventh-day Adventist and says he does believe there “should be a line drawn” between church and state, although like many conservatives, Carson would draw the line to favor right-wing Christians.

Attkisson asked if there’s a “chance to change the course, if it’s something that’s prophesied?”

“I think we have a chance to certainly do everything that we can to ameliorate the situation,” Carson said.

“I would always be shooting for peace,” Carson added. “You know, I wouldn’t just take a fatalistic view of things.”

Carson makes his remarks in the video above. The segment about the End of Days begins at about the 1:30 mark.
