‘Glorifying Unnatural Marriage’: One Million Moms Steaming Hot Over Campbell’s Soup Ad With Gay Dads

One Million Moms is attacking Campbell’s over an adorable ad that features real gay dads with their real son.

For years, One Million Moms – aka 80,000 busybodies on Facebook – has created controversy where there is none by attacking huge corporations for advertisements and TV shows that do not conform to their antediluvian world view.

Today’s latest beneficiary of OMM’s undue attention is Campbell’s Soup. The epitome of American wholesomeness – Campbell’s has been around for nearly 150 years – they have created a new ad campaign celebrating “real, real life,” by depicting real, real people and families. One of those is an adorable real-life family of two dads and their son, which NCRM reported on this week.

OMM had a different reaction.

“A homosexual ‘married’ couple is featured prominently with a young boy (their son) in the new Campbell’s Soup advertisement,” One Million Moms writes on Facebook. “Campbell’s #‎RealRealLife campaign aims to change the face of the American family,” they war, apparently unaware the face of the American family is constantly changing.

“It starts off with the first man feeding soup to the little boy and in a ‘Star Wars’ Darth Vader voice says, ‘Luke, I am your father.’ Then the other man enters the scene and says, ‘No, Luke, I am your father.'”

“How confusing for this little boy and for all children viewing this commercial,” OMM exclaims. Of course, study after study proves children raised by same-sex parents do just as well as children raised by different-sex parents, so the only ones confused are anti-gay blowhards like the American Family Association’s One Million Moms.

“Obviously, Campbell’s is sending the message that homosexual men are raising children, whom they wouldn’t have if a woman wasn’t involved, and they are ok with it,” OMM says. “Campbell’s Soup is glorifying this unnatural marriage. One Million Moms believes family is based on love, but this does not justify normalizing sin. Companies should advertise the quality of their products. It is no longer about the product but about their cause.”

So now One Million Moms is in the advertising business? The Campbell’s ads were conceived by one of the world’s largest and most respected ad agencies, BBDO.

“They should not be highlighting who is attracted to whom or who sleeps with whom. This is a marketing decision Campbell’s will regret,” OMM adds on their website. “This gay-inclusive commercial is attempting to desensitize viewers. There is concern about the way this ad is pushing the LGBT agenda, but an even greater concern is the way that they are attempting to redefine ‘family’ and ‘real marriage.'”

One Million Moms is asking their followers to call Campbell’s at 1-800-257-8443 to complain. We think it’s time to turn the tables on OMM. It would be great for people to call or write Campbell’s to thank them for the ad, and urge them to not pull it down.
