‘Could Have Been Sooner’: ‘Hillary’ Mocks Hillary On Same-Sex Marriage In SNL Skit
Hillary Clinton appeared in a well-received “Saturday Night Live” skit, and played along with some “self”-deprecating humor while taking a hilarious swing at GOP frontrunner Donald Trump.
Hillary Clinton made a guest appearance on the “Saturday Night Live” season premiere, playing the part of “Val,” a bartender, as SNL regular Kate McKinnon portrayed the Democratic frontrunner.Â
McKinnon, as Clinton, confessed to blowing off some steam, after having a “hard couple of 22 years” as she threw back a few vodkas, and was counseled by “Val.”
The skit gave the real Hillary Clinton the opportunity to address concerns about her ability to connect with people (who does that better than neighborhood bartenders, right?) and concerns over the timing of her opposition to the Keystone Pipeline, and support for same-sex marriage.
“Nothing wrong with taking your time. What’s important is getting it right,” bartender “Val” consoled “Clinton” over the pipeline.
“Could have been sooner,” the SNL “Clinton” repeated when “Val” told her how “great” how long she’s supported marriage equality.
But the skit also let the real Clinton blow off some steam by mocking her GOP opponent, Donald Trump.
“Donald Trump? Isn’t he the one that’s like ‘Ugh, you’re all losers,'” Clinton mockingly says, doing her best Trump impersonation.
Seriously impressed that @HillaryClinton has a Donald Trump impression. #SNL https://t.co/NG58ODB6oA

Perhaps the most genuine moment came when “Hillary” told “Val,” “I wish you could be president.†The real Clinton responded, “Me too!â€
Immediately after the skit, the Clinton campaign took advantage of the positive responses that were flooding Twitter:

A quick search for “Hillary” on Twitter immediately after the skit revealed the vast majority of tweets about her appearance were overwhelmingly positive.
