‘Homo Terrorists’: Here’s What Kim Davis Supporters Outside The Courthouse Today Are Saying About Gays

More than 100 Kim Davis supporters are outside a Kentucky courthouse waiting for her to appear before a judge. What they’re saying about gay people may make you think you’ve traveled back in time.

Kim Davis this morning at 11 AM will appear before a federal judge to try to convince him to not place her in contempt of court — or jail. Jail, though possible, is highly unlikely as the ACLU, which asked the judge to find her in contempt, asked she be fined, not imprisoned.

Predictably, Kim Davis’ conservative Christian supporters have come to show her support, and, predictably, to show the LGBT community just how much they oppose them, and their constitutional right to marry.

Buzzfeed reporter Dominic Holden is on the ground at the federal courthouse in Rowan County, and spoke with several people about Kim Davis, same-sex marriage, and gay people. 

Some of their comments may make your head explode — figuratively speaking, of course.

“The Supreme Court has no right do what they done,” Danny Kinder, 73, told Holden. “To the Lord, what gay people are doing is an abomination. God didn’t make marriage between two men or two women. Marriage is between a man and woman. The Christian right, the gays are trying to put their stuff on us. If we don’t take a stand, we won’t have nothing left.”

“We stand for God’s word and Christian Rights,” he added.

John Stidam, 55, also had harsh words.

“We voted against gay rights in Kentucky. The Supreme Court is saying our vote doesn’t count. Then we have no rights,” he says. 

Stidam also objected to the Supreme Court’s 2003 Lawrence v. Texas decision outlawing bans on sodomy.

“A 60-year-old pervert right now has the right to sodomize an 18-year-old boy,” Stidam says. “Sodomy was illegal until that was overruled.”

Although 33-year old Erica Gardner voted for Kim Davis, she opposes her position and now wishes she hadn’t given Davis her vote.

“Since she joined the daily protests outside the clerk’s office,” Holden reports, “Gardner and her comrades have witnessed people driving past yelling ‘faggot,’ ‘queers,’ and ‘sickos,’ they said. At one point, a truck swerved toward the group’s roadside protest like it was going to hit them.”
