Ted Cruz Wins Evangelical ‘Values Voter’ Straw Poll – Third Year In A Row

Ted Cruz is once again is evangelicals’ choice for president.

Although no one who has ever won the Values Voter Summit straw poll has gone on to be the Republican Party’s nominee, conservative evangelicals minutes ago voted Ted Cruz to be their standard bearer. This is the Texas Tea Party Senator’s third win in a row at the conference hosted by the anti-gay hate group Family Research Council.

Cruz took 35 percent of the vote, with Ben Carson coming in second at 18 percent. The Values Voter crowd also named Carson as their choice for vice president, The Hill reports.

Mike Huckabee came in third, with just 14 percent, with Marco Rubio coming in a close fourth, at 13 percent. Donald Trump, who originally was not going to attend, rounded out the top five, with five percent.
