Kim Davis’ Attorney Accuses ACLU Of Wanting ‘Her Scalp To Hang On The Wall’

Liberty Counsel issues a statement in response to the ACLU petitioning a federal judge.

The ACLU late Monday night filed a petition asking a federal judge to force Kim Davis to not alter marriage licenses issued from her office. After she was released from jail for contempt of court, Davis confiscated all marriage license forms and altered them to remove her name and the name of the county.

There are concerns based on Kentucky law that any marriage licenses issued on the altered forms are not valid.

In response to the ACLU’s motion, Liberty Counsel, the anti-gay hate group that is representing Kim Davis, issued a hostie statement.

“Kim Davis has made a good-faith effort to comply with the court’s order,” Mat Staver (photo, right), head of Liberty Counsel, told the AP. “The ACLU’s motion to again hold Kim Davis in contempt reveals that their interest is not the license but rather a marriage license bearing the name of Kim Davis. They want her scalp to hang on the wall as a trophy.”

The ACLU is asking Judge Bunning if Davis refuses to use the approved forms, to place Davis’ office in receivership, legally taking over the responsibility of issuing marriage licenses, taking Davis out of the picture entirely.
