North Carolina Man Running For Mayor On Platform Of ‘Eradicating Homosexuals’ (Video)
A North Carolina man motivated by Kim Davis wants to be mayor of his small town so he can accomplish just one goal: “eradicating homosexuals.”
Eugene “Sherlock” Holmes is running for mayor of Kings Mountain, North Carolina, not because he wants to govern his small town of about 10,000 people, but because he wants to get rid of all the gay people.
“What’s wrong with eradicating homosexuals?,” Holmes, whose nickname for obvious reasons is Sherlock, tells the Kings Mountain Herald.
At the very least, Holmes thinks his town “should jail them, throw them all in jail!”
“If you elect me, I’ll uphold the law of the state of North Carolina,” the 77-year-old Korean War vet promises, not understanding – or caring – that the Supreme Court’s decision that sodomy laws are unconstitutional invalidates North Carolina’s laws against LGBT people.
“In my administration I would do just like Mrs. Davis did in Kentucky,” Holmes says. The paper notes Kings Mountain doesn’t actually issue marriage licenses, so it’s unclear what exactly he’s promising there.
Chances of course are slim Holmes will win – he’s going up against a six-term incumbent. The fact that he says, “I don’t want to be mayor no more than I want to fly,” likely would solidify his chances of losing.
As, hopefully would the fact that Holmes reportedly says doctors had “diagnosed him as suffering from ‘religious hallucinations.'”
But the fact that a virulently anti-gay man wants to eradicate gay people to begin with should be cause for great concern. Holmes in the Fox 46 video is seen waving a Confederate flag. We’ll leave it at that.
