Huckabee Slams Obama’s Pope Visit Guest List As ‘Classless Cattle Call For Gay Activists’

Mike Huckabee is now attacking President Barack Obama for inviting LGBT and pro-choice activists to the White House during the Pope’s visit.

Mike Huckabee is working overtime to get attention after his losing performance at last week’s GOP debate. On Saturday the former Arkansas governor attacked President Obama’s nominee to head the U.S. Army because he is gay, despite having a resume that makes him eminently qualified.

This morning Huckabee continued his strategy of not attacking his GOP opponents but attacking the President, calling Obama’s guest list of White House invitees to meet the pope a “politicized cattle call for gay and pro-abortion activists.”

The ordained Baptist preacher who is struggling in the polls with support from just 6 percent of Republican voters also called President Obama “the most anti-Christian in American history.”

The president of course has the right to invite anyone he chooses to the White House, and among the long list of invitees are Sister Simone Campbell, one of the famous “Nuns on the Bus,” Aaron Jay Ledesma, a gay Catholic activist, and Bishop Gene Robinson, the first openly gay Episcopal bishop (ret.) in the U.S., along with other LGBT activists.

Reportedly, the Vatican “has taken offense” to some of the invited guests, and clearly Gov. Huckabee has too, sensing an opportunity to get attention.

“President Obama’s classless decision to transform Pope Francis’ visit to the White House into a politicized cattle call for gay and pro-abortion activists is an insult to millions of Catholics,” Huckabee said today, according to Sunshine State News. “Why is it that Obama goes to extremes to accommodate Muslim terrorists but shows nothing but disdain for Christians? This is a new low for an administration that will go down as the most anti-Christian in American history.”
