Mike Huckabee is attacking President Obama left and right, even over issues that have nothing to do with him.
Ahead of Pope Francis‘ visit to the White House, last night Mike Huckabee continued his unending attacks on President Barack Obama, using a reporter’s question about Ben Carson‘s anti-Muslim remarks to pivot to attacking Obama.
“I’m less concerned about what faith a person has,” Huckabee told Newsmax’s Ed Berliner. “I’m more concerned about the authenticity of their faith and how that plays out in their policies.
“I’m also concerned about a guy who believes he’s a Christian and pretends to be and says he is, but then does things that makes it very difficult for people to practice their Christian faith.”
Huckabee then repeated an attack he made earlier, about a few LGBT activists and pro-choice advocates President Obama invited to the White House for the Pope’s visit. There are about 15,000 people reportedly on that list, and the contingent the former Arkansas governor is angered by make up far less than one percent.
“I’m disappointed if a person says, ‘I’m a Christian,’ but you invite the Pope into your home and then you invite a whole bunch of people who are at odds with the Catholic Church policy. I think there’s something very unseemly about that.”
In fact, the average Catholic in America disagrees with a great deal of the Catholic Church’s teachings on most issues.
Huckabee called the inclusion of a handful of progressive activists a “cattle call for gay and pro-abortion activists,” and labeled Pres. Obama’s administration “the most anti-Christian in American history.”
Huckabee has refused to apologize for wrongly suggesting over the weekend that President Obama’s nomination of a highly-qualified man who happens to be gay to be the next Secretary of the Army makes it “clear President Obama is more interested in appeasing America’s homosexuals than honoring America’s heroes.”Â
He also claimed “Obama is so obsessed with pandering to liberal interest groups he’s nominated an openly gay civilian to run the Army. Homosexuality is not a job qualification.”
