Breaking: Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker To Quit GOP Presidential Race Today
Scott Walker is about to become the second Republican to drop out of the 2016 race for the White House.
In Madison, Wisconsin at 6:00 PM EDT tonight, Gov. Scott Walker will tell supporters he is dropping out of the race for the White House. The 47-year old two-term governor who just months ago was seen as a strong contender no longer sees a path to the nomination, the New York Times reports minutes ago. MSNBC on air confirmed that Walker is definitely dropping out.
“The short answer is money,†a Walker supporter told the Times. “He’s made a decision not to limp into Iowa.â€
The Times notes that “Walker’s intended withdrawal is a humiliating climb down for a Republican governor once seen as all but politically invincible.”
