Tennessee Presidential Candidate To Form Christian Party Outlawing Homosexuality
Christian theocracy in America? A Tennessee man says it’s God’s will he becomes the next president of the United States. His campaign platform calls for the criminalization of homosexuality and for the union of church and state.
Darrell Trigg is running for president. The Tennessee engineer says God has told him it is His will that he will be the next president of the United States, and when he wins, he will dramatically change America into a theocracy.
Trigg will form the Christian Party, he says in his campaign video.
“The national religion of The United States of America will be the Christian religion,” Trigg’s campaign platform states. “Those belonging to other religions, such as Islam, will be free to live and worship here as now, with their own religion; Â however, the Christian religion will be the one chosen to form the basic moral principles of our nation, to give it a strong moral foundation, and a right relationship with God.”
He’ll outlaw the separation of church and state, alcohol on college campuses, and abortion except if the fetus has little chance of living and if the life of the mother is at “extreme risk” – that’s “and,” not “or.” He’ll also raise the drinking age to 25, and place a salary cap of $300,000 on all coaches, managers and CEOs.
“Homosexuality will not be recognized legally, or in any other manner, by the United States government or any state, city, or county government.”
“Marriage will be defined as the union of one woman with one man,” and couples “wishing to get married must first attend Christian marriage counseling classes.” Divorce will be nearly impossible, it will “only be allowed in cases of abuse, infidelity, or incarceration.” Expectant couples of course will be married and “must attend Christian parenting classes.”
That’s just an excerpt from Trigg’s platform, but his campaign video reveals just how theocratical Trigg’s America would be.
“Christ was 33 when he died on the cross. Darrell is asking everyone to contribute $33 to this campaign to commemorate each year that Jesus lived on Earth,” a press release says. Apparently, he’s doing very well. Trigg says the “response to this press release has been tremendous ! In the first month, over 23,300 people have visited the website !”
