Suspect In Murder Of Reporters Allegedly Posts Video Of Shooting To Facebook

The suspect in this morning’s shooting death of two Virginia reporters allegedly has posted video of the murders to his Facebook page.

This morning viewers of WDBJ in Roanoke, Virginia watched in horror as reporter Alison Parker, 24, and her cameraman, Adam Ward, 27, were shot to death live on camera.

Police now believe the gunman is a disgruntled former employee of the station, Vester Lee Flanagan, and are currently in pursuit.

But now, in a stunning turn of events, it appears the suspect has uploaded video he may have shot with a GoPro camera, to his Facebook page.

Flanagan went by the name Bryce Williams and was an on-air reporter.

His Twitter and Facebook accounts have been shut down, but he reportedly tweeted, “I filmed the shooting see Facebook,” along with other comments.

CNN reports the video was posted to Facebook, and they have viewed at least parts of it.

Raw Story’s Travis Gettys reports Virginia Democratic Gov. Terry McAuliffe commented on the murders, and the link to gun accessibility.

“There are too many guns in the hands of people who shouldn’t have guns,” said McAuliffe. “I’m a gun owner, I own guns, but I went through background checks to get (them).”

The woman Parker was interviewing when she was shot and killed is Vicki Gardner, the head of the Smith Mountain Lake Chamber of Commerce. She too was shot and is currently in surgery.

UPDATE: Suspect In Murders Of Reporters Has Shot Himself, Police Say Still Alive

As NCRM reported earlier, cameraman Adam Ward’s fiancé is the producer of the morning show. She watched it happen from the control room. Today was their last day, they were moving to another station.

And Chris Hurst, an anchor at WDBJ, tweeted a photo of himself with reporter Alison Parker, stating, “We didn’t share this publicly, but @AParkerWDBJ7 and I were very much in love. We just moved in together. I am numb.”
