Pat Robertson: Market Crash Is ‘The Judgment Of God’ For Planned Parenthood (Video)

Pat Robertson never lets a crisis or disaster go uncredited. Today is just the latest in the octogenarian’s false claims.

Just after September 11, 2001, Pat Robertson told Jerry Falwell, “I concur,” when the late televangelist blamed the ACLU and “the pagans, and the abortionists, and the feminists, and the gays, and the lesbians” for the terror attacks against America.

In 2005, Pat Robertson tied the very same 9/11 attacks to Hurricane Katrina, which he blamed on abortion.

Just five years later, Robertson blamed the earthquake in Haiti which killed well over 100,000 people, likely more, on a centuries-old “pact” with “the Devil” that Robertson claimed Haiti’s funders had made.

Pat Robertson has a long and ugly history of taking current events and falsely characterizing their cause to further his world view – which ultimately, keeps him in business, and that helps fuel his well-funded bank accounts.

Take today’s market crash.

Just before the markets in the U.S. opened this morning, futures showed the stock markets crashing, and they indeed did. The DOW was down nearly 1100 points before regaining much of what it lost. As of this writing the DOW is down a few hundred points.

Robertson saw the panic as an opportunity to lash out against abortion, and decided to use the fear generated world wide by the crash across international markets, to spread his beliefs.

“We will pay dearly as a nation for this thing going on,” Robertson told his audience, which CBN, Pat’s Christian Broadcasting Network, claims is one million viewers daily. “And possibly if we were to stop all this slaughter the judgment of God might be lifted from us. But it’s coming, ladies and gentlemen. We just had a little taste of it in terms of the financial system, but it’s going to be shaken to its core in the next few months, years or however long it tastes and it will hurt every one of us.”

Robertson also called taxes “extortion” and “tyranny,” and wrongly claimed that President Obama said he would “shut the government down” if Republicans try to defund Planned Parenthood. (Obama said he would veto any bill that defunds Planned Parenthood.)

Robertson failed to mention that under President Obama, abortion and especially teen pregnancy have plummeted.

Warning that if America does not end abortion, the financial markets will continue to drop, and “that will hurt every one of us.”

Robertson’s net worth is estimated to be in the hundreds of millions of dollars if not over $1 billion.
