16 Year Old Girl Stabbed At Jerusalem Gay Pride Parade Dies

Shira Banki, the 16-year old girl who was stabbed at Thursday’s gay pride parade in Jerusalem, has succumbed to her wounds.

On Thursday several thousand people attended Jerusalem’s gay pride parade. It was relatively peaceful and joyous, until Yishai Schlissel allegedly started stabbing people. There were six victims, some treated at the scene, some transported to the hospital. One, a 16-year old girl named Shira Banki, was critically wounded. She died today in the hospital of her wounds.

Yishai Schlissel had just been released from prison weeks earlier, serving 10 years of a 12 year sentence for stabbing three people at Jerusalem’s 2005 gay pride parade.

Schlissel reportedly had made threats before his release, and after, but before the parade, “distributed hand-written anti-gay pamphlets calling the LGBT rally ‘shameful’ and ‘blasphemous,'” the International Business Times reported.

The ultra-orthodox Jew wrote: “It is incumbent upon every Jew to risk beatings or imprisonment and together to stop the desecration for the sanctity of His name. If we refrain from declaring war, they’ll feel free to spread this shame all over the world.”

He also gave interviews to media outlets heaping scorn on the gay parade.

An LGBT advocacy group, Jerusalem Open House for Pride and Tolerance, had organized the pride event, the Washington Blade reports.

“The LGBTQ community in Jerusalem and the Jerusalem Open House mourn her death at the hands of a fanatic, consumed with hatred and fear. The knife that fatally injured Shira was sharpened by years of incitement,” the group said in a statement in response to Shira Banki’s death. “That knife targeted all those who believe in a just society, where every woman and man can live freely, without fear of violence and persecution. That knife has wounded all those who believe in life and in God’s creation.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a statement, “Shira was murdered for courageously supporting the principle that each and every person has the right to live their life in security and respect.”

“We will not allow this loathsome murderer to undermine the basic values upon which the Israeli society is based. We staunchly condemn this attempt to sew the seeds of hatred and violence among us and will act to bring the murderer to justice,” he added.

Jerusalem’s mayor also denounced the “murder of this young girl at the Gay Pride Parade on the streets of Jerusalem.”

“We will continue to allow full freedom of expression in this city, we will continue to support all groups and communities, we will enhance education and tolerance for others in our school system, and we will not be deterred by those who are trying to prevent it,” Mayor Nir Barkat said.

The police have come under fire for not foreseeing the possibility Schlissel would strike again.

‘Don’t Mess With Me’: Speaker Pelosi Destroys Reporter for Asking if She ‘Hates’ Trump (Video)

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi addressed reporters late Thursday morning, and after concluding her remarks and answering their questions she walked off the stage, but stopped in her tracks when one reporter asked: “Do you hate the President, Madam Speaker?”

The Speaker whipped around, pointed her finger at him and responded, “I don’t hate anybody.”

“Don’t you accuse me,” Pelosi railed.

“I still pray for the president all the time,” she continued, a statement she has made repeatedly over the past few years.

“I was raised in a Catholic house. I don’t hate anybody,” the Speaker said, chastising the reporter. “Not anybody in the world.”

“As a Catholic I resent you using the word ‘hate,'” she added. “So don’t mess with me when it comes to words like that.”

A Vice News senior political reporter says, “I’m not sure I’ve ever seen her this visibly angry.”

One Washington Post and CNN reporter tweeted she has never seen the Speaker that upset.

Another Politico reporter called it a “very tense moment.”

UPDATE:
The reporter who asked the question reportedly works for the right-wing Sinclair Broadcast Group:

THE IMPEACHMENT OF PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP

Pelosi Formally Requests House Draft Articles of Impeachment Against President Donald Trump: ‘Facts Are Uncontested’

Published

A somber Speaker Nancy Pelosi addressed the nation Wednesday morning, invoking words from the nation’s founding documents, warning of a monarch king, to announce she is requesting the House of Representatives draft Articles of Impeachment against President Donald Trump.

“The facts are uncontested: The president abused his power for his own personal political benefit,” the Speaker charged.

“Our democracy is what’s at stake,” Pelosi added. “The president has engaged in an abuse of power.”

“The president leaves us no choice but to act because he is trying to corrupt, once again, the election for his own benefit.”

“With allegiance to our Founders,” the Speaker added.

‘A President the World Is Laughing At’: Biden Releases New Ad Attacking Trump – and It’s Getting Widely Praised

Published

on

Former Vice President Joe Biden, still the Democratic frontrunner, Wednesday night released an ad that has many people talking – it’s already been viewed 5.4 million times – and it’s getting praise from even non-Biden supporters.

The ad uses footage from the viral video of world leaders at NATO mocking President Donald Trump – a video that upset the American president so greatly he left London early, canceling a press conference and bilateral meeting, to head back to D.C.

The ad begins with Trump at NATO, the moves quickly to portions of the viral video showing Trump being mocked, and overlays text that reads, “A PRESIDENT THE WORLD IS LAUGHING AT.” It also overlays commentary from political pundits and journalists including Mika Brzezinski, Joe Scarborough, and Wolf Blitzer.

Also in the ad is video of Trump being mocked at the United Nations.

It concludes with Biden declaring “The world sees Trump for what he is. Insincere, ill-informed, corrupt, dangerously incompetent, and incapable in my view of world leadership.”

It then cuts to Vice President Biden exiting Air Force One, conversing with world leaders – including those who mocked Trump – and shows him in the Situation Room.

“And if we give Donald Trump four more years,” Biden declares, “we will have great difficulty of ever being able to recover America’s standing in the world, and our capacity to bring nations together.”

It concludes with text that reads: “We need a leader the world respects.”

Here’s what some, including those who have not declared support for Biden, or have declared support for other candidates, are saying:
