TLC: Duggar Daughters To Be Featured In Documentary Raising Awareness Of Child Sexual Abuse
TLC isn’t totally done with the Duggars quite yet – but maybe that’s good.
TLC has officially canceled the Duggar family’s reality TV show, “19 Kids And Counting.” The reality of what Josh Duggar did to five young girls, and a possible impending civil lawsuit against him, might have been just too much for the network to handle.
The Duggar family released a statement this morning after the news broke, and TLC did as well.
“After thoughtful consideration, TLC and the Duggar family have decided to not move forward with 19 Kids and Counting. The show will no longer appear on the air,” TLC announces. “The recent attention around the Duggars has sparked a critical and important conversation about child protection.”

Noting that “child sexual abuse is not an isolated issue; it affects many children and families around the world,” TLC announced it is partnering with RAINN and Darkness to Light, which it describes as “leading victims’ rights and advocacy organizations.”
TLC says it will be working “to raise awareness and educate parents and families about the issue” of child sexual abuse.
“In the first phase of this initiative, TLC will work closely with both groups and with the Duggar family on a one-hour documentary that will include Jill and Jessa and other survivors and families that have been affected by abuse.”
That “documentary will be commercial free, and we anticipate it will air later this summer.”
