Ted Cruz: Same-Sex Marriage Will Be ‘Raging Inferno Awakening This Nation To Defend American Values’

Ted Cruz has a vision for America, and it involves Christians rising up to take back their country, apparently from the gays.

Ted Cruz went down to Georgia this weekend to celebrate Independence Day with the folks from Rock Springs Church in Milner. While the Tea Party Republican presidential candidate was onstage, amid a Christian rock band’s instruments, he delivered what may be the longest sentence to date from a 2016 presidential candidate.

And of course, it was all about the gays, and the Supreme Court’s ruling on marriage for same-sex couples.

“It is my hope,” Cruz told the small audience, “that that marriage decision serves as a spark to start a fire that becomes a raging inferno and an awakening that sweeps this country as the body of Christ rise up to defend the values that have built America into this great nation that we are.”

So far, aside from a few defiant county clerks and judges, very few have decided to “rise up to defend the values that have built America into this great nation that we are.”

The Tea Party Senator also told the audience that 54 million evangelicals did not vote in 2012, and he’d like them to come out and vote from him.
