Pat Robertson Doesn’t Know Why God Didn’t Kill Supreme Court Justices Who Voted For Roe v. Wade

Pat Robertson seems to think that maybe God should have killed the Supreme Court justices who voted that abortion is a constitutionally protected right.

Pat Robertson isn’t sure why God did not immediately smite down the seven Supreme Court justices who ruled in support of Roe v. Wade, that women have a constitutional right to abortion. (Yes, Roe was a 7-2 decision.)

“You’ll have to ask God why he didn’t kill ’em,” Robertson, answering reader mail today, told a viewer. He also smirked a bit, and added, “it’s in God’s hands whether they live a long life.”

Robertson acknowledged that Republican-appointed justices supported the decision, but claimed it was “based on no science.”

He then launched into a faulty interpretation of events that led up to the decision.

Right Wing Watch notes that Robertson “blamed the decision on the justices’ use of ‘stuff from Planned Parenthood,’ before going into a rant about how Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger looked down on black people and Southern white Protestants. As we’ve noted in the past, Sanger’s views on race have been badly distorted by the far-right.”
