Trump Shows Trump Card: Threatens ‘Foolish’ GOP He’ll Run As An Independent ‘If They’re Not Fair’
Donald Trump knows exactly what he’s doing. Was this his plan all along?
“The RNC has not been supportive. They were always supportive when I was a contributor. I was their fair-haired boy. The RNC has been, I think, very foolish.â€Â – Donald Trump
Donald Trump has been getting attacked by his Republican opponents, their political pals, and even the head of the RNC, ever since he said John McCain is not a war hero, then twisted that around to say he is, but only because he got captured.
It took Republican candidates 18 days to get enough courage to respond to Trump’s attacks on Mexican immigrants, but only a few minutes when he turned his focus to the Republican Senator from Arizona.

Trump has been fighting back all week, even at one point reading aloud in a press conference the cell phone number of McCain’s BFF, Sen. Lindsey Graham – who just happens to be running for president also. That of course inspired what quickly became a viral video, giving Graham the win in these increasingly frat house-like battles.
Now, Trump is showing his trump card.
Just days after a major poll showed in a 2016 presidential race between Hillary Clinton and Jeb Bush, Trump would bleed Republican voters away from Jeb!, handing the White House to Hillary.
That ABC News-Washington Post survey shows Hillary Clinton at 50% and Jeb Bush at 44% if the election were held now. But if Trump were to run as an independent, he would get 20% of the vote – mostly coming from Republicans – leaving Jeb Bush with just 30% and Hillary with 46%, and the keys to the White House.
“The RNC has not been supportive. They were always supportive when I was a contributor. I was their fair-haired boy,†Trump told The Hill in an exclusive interview yesterday. “The RNC has been, I think, very foolish.â€
Asked specifically if he would run as a third party candidate if he does not win the GOP nomination, Trump responded, “so many people want me to, if I don’t win.â€
But he also warned, “I’ll have to see how I’m being treated by the Republicans.â€
“Absolutely, if they’re not fair, that would be a factor,†he threatened.
