Watch Live Now: Hillary Clinton Kicks Off Presidential Campaign With First Major Speech

Watch Hillary Clinton speak live before thousands of supporters at a historic New York City landmark. This is the first major event of her campaign.

Hillary Clinton will speak to an expected huge crowd at New York City’s Roosevelt Island – named for the late President Franklin D. Roosevelt – at the Four Freedoms Park.

When FDR delivered his 1941 State of the Union address, it became known as the Four Freedoms speech. He said everyone across the world should have the right to Freedom of speech, Freedom of worship, Freedom from want, and Freedom from fear.

Clinton will use this historic setting to position herself in his legacy, especially along those themes.

The New York Times notes Clinton will “evoke the legacy of the New Deal and lay out her vision for a federal government substantially engaged in lifting American families that feel economically insecure and increasingly left behind.”

This is an exceptionally important speech for the former Secretary of State.

You can also watch live at C-SPAN.

Clinton is expected to begin speaking at 11:45 AM EDT.
