Ben Carson: Anti-Christian Discrimination ‘More Important’ Topic Than Anti-Gay Discrimination
Ben Carson calls in to CNN to discuss his anti-gay comments, asks anchor to find something else to talk about, like discrimination against Christians.
Wednesday evening, Ben Carson told Fox News that gay rights are not civil rights – in part because there’s no “gay” water fountain. As usual, Carson – who is running for president and is doing well in the polls – had offended many people with his remarks, and this afternoon called in to CNN to defend them.
It didn’t go well. And it ended up with Carson suggesting that discrimination against Christians is a “more important” issue to discuss, than discrimination  against gay people
On Fox, Carson had been discussing his interview with CNN’s Chris Cuomo earlier this year, during which he claimed that being gay is a choice, and that prison proves it.
As NCRM reported earlier today, Carson admitted it was a “boneheaded” response to CNN host Chris Cuomo’s line of questioning, but he also admitted he had lost his cool during that interview.
“I was a little bit irritated that he was equating the whole [homosexuality] issue with the Civil Rights movement,” Carson told Fox News anchor Bret Baier. “Because, quite frankly, I didn’t remember any times when there were signs up that says, you know, ‘everybody else here and gay people have to drink at this fountain,'” he said.
This afternoon, Carson decided after calling in to defend himself, that he didn’t really want to “talk about the gay issue” – or anything to do with LGBT rights, claiming that he hold “no animosity” toward gay people.

CNN host Brianna Keilar decided to try to get an answer from Carson on this issue of gay rights, asking if he thinks LGBT people are discriminated against.
Carson refused to offer a full answer, as Keilar noted at the end of the interview.
But Carson did manage to reveal his ignorance and anti-LGBT mindset yet again.
Insisting the U.S. Constitution “protects every single American,” he also asked, “can we move on to something more important? Is there anything more important to talk about?” than LGBT civil rights, Carson wanted to know.
“I’m saying there – every group faces some type of discrimination. Christians face a lot of discrimination. I wish we would talk more about that.”
Less talk about the very real discrimination gays face in America, more talk about the faux discrimination some Christians feel they face in the U.S.Â
