TX: Attorney General Tells Clerks To Wait To Issue Licenses To Same-Sex Couples, Some Clerks Refuse

The Texas Attorney General is having an insane meltdown. He published a hyperbolic statement, and told clerks to wait on issuing licenses to same-sex couples.

Newly-elected Texas Attorney General and religious right crusader Ken Paxton has issued what can only be described as an insane, hyperbolic diatribe over the Supreme Court’s marriage decision. Fortunately, some county clerks are ignoring him.

“dilution of marriage as a societal institution”

“assault on the actual text of the U.S. Constitution and the rule of law itself”

“unelected judges”

“personal and economic aggression against people of faith”

The AP adds that in Austin, Dallas, and San Antonio, clerks are issuing licenses to same-sex couples.
