Pat Robertson says “it isn’t a bad thing” when god takes children at a young age, because you never know who they could grow up to be.
Pat Robertson is back to giving terrible advice.
The 85-year old televangelist and founder of the Christian Broadcasting Network and Regent University takes questions viewers write in, daily on his “700 Club” TV show.
Today, a woman wrote in asking what she should tell a grieving co-worker whose three-year old baby died. The mother asked how she can believe in a god who would take her child from her.
Robertson didn’t hesitate one moment.

“People die in hospitals because of medical malpractice,” Robertson told her. “It happens all the time.”Â
“Are you going to blame that on god,” Robertson asked, in an apparent attempt to shield god from the angered mother.
But Robertson wasn’t done yet.
“As far as God’s concerned, he knows the end from the beginning and He sees a little baby and that little baby could grow up to be Adolf Hitler, he could grow up to be Joseph Stalin, he could grow up to be some serial killer, or he could grow up to die of a hideous disease,†Robertson told the woman. “God sees all of that, and for that life to be terminated while he’s a baby, he’s going to be with God forever in Heaven so it isn’t a bad thing.â€Â
Remember, when god takes a young life, “it isn’t a bad thing,” because the child could grow to have a terrible disease or to be Hitler, says Robertson. But when women chose to terminate a pregnancy, according to anti-abortion activists, that’s genocide greater than the scale of Hitler’s Holocaust.
