Franklin Graham Quits Wells Fargo For Supporting ‘Sin’ – Moves To Bank Sponsoring Miami Gay Pride

Anti-gay Christian conservatives are rapidly realizing that not only have they lost the culture wars, everyone else has joined the equality side.

Franklin Graham, Billy Graham’s son, went on a tear on Friday over a Wells Fargo ad about a lesbian couple adopting a young deaf girl, which he calls “sin.” Yes, two women going to the trouble of learning sign language so they can adopt a special needs child shows “the tide of moral decay that is being crammed down our throats,” Franklin Graham wrote on Facebook.

He called on Christians to boycott Wells Fargo, and move their money to a bank that does not support LGBT equality.

As NCRM pointed out yesterday, good luck finding one.

Graham yesterday told the Family Research Council that he’s settled on BB&T Bank, which is based in his home state of North Carolina.

Someone probably should let him know, as Right Wing Watch points out, that he “may not have done much research, as BB&T has received an 80 percent score in the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index and this year is the sponsor of the Miami Beach Gay Pride Parade, along with the chief sponsor of Miami Beach Gay Pride’s “Legacy Couples” program, which celebrates same-sex couples in “committed relationships of 10 years or longer.”

Graham notes that his church will save about $100,000 or more in fees.

Oh, the wages of sin…
