Charleston Church Shooter Reportedly Said ‘You Rape Our Women, You’re Taking Over Our Country’

The cousin of the murdered Charleston Church pastor was told by one of the survivors stunning details about what happened in the church were nine people were slaughtered.

A local news station interviewed a cousin of South Carolina State Senator Clementa Pinckney, who was the pastor of Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church. Pinckney, along with eight others, were gunned down in that church last night. Police now have the suspect, Dylann Storm Roof, in custody, after capturing him in North Carolina.

Sylvia Johnson, the pastor’s cousin, told reporters one of the three survivors who was in the church told her that Roof said, “I have to do it. You rape our women and you’re taking over our country. And you have to go.”

Roof, who reportedly sat in the church during its Bible study and prayer for an hour, was given a gun for his 21st birthday this year. His Facebook page image shows him wearing a jacket with flags and symbols of the racist apartheid movement in South Africa.
