Billy Graham’s Church Calls For Christians To Boycott Wells Fargo Bank Over Same-Sex Adoption Ad

A same-sex couple learning sign language so they can adopt a young deaf girl is just too much for Franklin Graham to bear.

A charming and heart-warming new ad for Wells Fargo bank shows two women trying hard to learn sign language. At first it’s unclear who they are or what their motivation is, but quickly it’s revealed they are a couple and they are adopting a young girl who is deaf. The ad focuses on the importance of family and financial planning.

“Everyone works hard for a reason. Working together, we can help you prepare financially for when two becomes three,” the Wells Fargo voiceover says.

A loving couple learning how to communicate with a young deaf child they are adopting is the very essence of “the tide of moral decay that is being crammed down our throats,” says Franklin Graham in a Facebook post on Friday.

“Every day it is something else!,” laments Graham, the son of the iconic 96-year old Southern Baptist Christian evangelical Billy Graham.

Billy Graham was a trusted advisor to Presidents Eisenhower, Johnson, and Nixon. He reportedly reached 2.2 billion people during his lifetime of preaching the gospel, traveling the world and speaking at packed stadiums during the Billy Graham Crusades.

His son, Franklin, took a different path. He preaches hate via Facebook and rare stints on conservative radio and TV shows.

And now, Franklin Graham wants Christians to stop doing business with Wells Fargo bank, and also the famous Tiffany & Co. jewelers, because they “started advertising wedding rings for gay couples.”

And he’s setting the example.

“At the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, we are moving our accounts from Wells Fargo to another bank,” Graham writes on Facebook. “And guess what—we don’t have to shop at Tiffany & Co., there are plenty of other jewelry stores. This is one way we as Christians can speak out—we have the power of choice. Let’s just stop doing business with those who promote sin and stand against Almighty God’s laws and His standards. Maybe if enough of us do this, it will get their attention. Share this if you agree.”

Over 40,000 already have shared his post, ad over 90,000 have “liked” it.

Good luck finding a solid nationwide bank or credit card company that doesn’t support LGBT equality. HRC gave these a 100 percent as LGBT equality employers:

But if they want to stay true to their word, Franklin Graham’s supporters will first have to stop communicating via Facebook, which strongly supports the LGBT community. And they’ll have to stop communicating via their Apple computers and iPhones, and their Microsoft operating system computers too. Oh, and no more Google Chromebooks or Android phones. Twitter, too, is out, since they are LGBT supportive.

Christians following Billy Graham’s call to “stop doing business with those who promote sin” will have to avoid booking travel via Orbitz or Expedia, and can’t buy clothing from the GAP, Banana Republic, Old Navy, Kenneth Cole, or American Apparel.

No more Absolut vodka martinis, or Bud beer brands.

Martha Stewart products are out too.

Good luck buying a car from a company that doesn’t support LGBT equality. Here’s a list of companies that do:

Acura
Aston Martin
Audi
Bentley
BMW
Buick
Cadillac
Chevrolet
Chrysler
Dodge
Fiat
Ford
GMC
Honda
Infiniti
Jaguar
Jeep
Land Rover
Lexus
Lincoln
Mazda
Mercedes-Benz
MINI
Mitsubishi
Nissan
Porsche
Ram
Rolls-Royce
Scion
smart
SRT
Subaru
Toyota
Volkswagen
Volvo

Oh, and Christians who don’t believe in equality will also need to avoid doing business with the 379 companies who signed an amicus brief asking the Supreme court to rule in favor of same-sex marriage.

Among them are Aetna, Alcoa, Amazon.com, American Airlines, American Express, Apple, AT&T, Bank of America, Barclays, BlackRock, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Capital One, Cardinal Health, Chubb, Cigna, Cisco, Citigroup, Colgate-Palmolive, ConAgra, Corning, Credit Suisse Securities, CVS Health, Delta Air Lines, Deutsche Bank, Dow Chemical, EBay, Facebook, General Electric, General Mills, GlaxoSmithKline, Goldman Sachs, Google, Hartford Financial Services, Hilton, HSBC, Intuit, Johnson & Johnson, JPMorgan Chase, Kimberly-Clark, KPMG, Levi Strauss, Marriott, Marsh & McLennan, Massachusetts Mutual, McKinsey, Microsoft, MillerCoors, Morgan Stanley, Nationwide Mutual, the New England Patriots, New York Life, Nike, Northrop Grumman, Office Depot, Oracle, Orbitz, Pandora, PepsiCo, Pfizer, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Procter & Gamble, Prudential, Qualcomm, RBC Capital Markets, the San Francisco Giants, Staples, Symantec, the Tampa Bay Rays, Target, TD Bank, Twitter, UBS, United Airlines, Verizon, Walt Disney, Wells Fargo, and Zynga.

And Franklin Graham’s supporters will have to avoid the 366 companies on HRC’s 2015 Corporate Equality Index, all of whom received a 100 percent.

Or, they could all just get on with their lives and accept the fact that two women who love each other adopting a little girl is not a threat to them, or to anyone else – except Franklin Graham, who has built his career on hate.
